WPENA’s General Meeting on Tuesday, March 10 6-8 p.m. at Washington Park United Methodist Church will focus on neighborhood/city-wide crime and safety issues and feature a conversation with the Denver Police Department.  Chief Thomas and Commander Bell are scheduled. Topics that will be discussed include:

• DPD’s car and bike theft programs and resources, self defense classes, gun locks, cyber crimes, porch pirates, other safety programming.
• There will be an opportunity for Wash Park East residents to indicate if they are interested in more detailed sessions on cyber crimes and car theft, and to sign up for the neighborhood watch.
• The meeting will include traffic enforcement and how to request speed monitoring devices to determine whether it meets the deviation from posted speed to get traffic enforcement there.  Traffic enforcement is under a separate City Department.   DPD will discuss how to get the ticket vans posted and how to report street racing.
