Earth + Arbor Day 2026 🌲 A Tree-Mendous Success!
WPENA and FANS hosted a successful Earth and Arbor Day celebration on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the historic Washington Park Boathouse.
The event brought together over 23 vendors and nonprofits to promote sustainability, ecological awareness, and community action in the heart of Denver.
Neighbors enjoyed a variety of hands-on activities and educational opportunities:
- Tree Tributes & Care: Attendees received free tree seedlings from Savatree and learned about urban forest care from Denver Forestry.
- Sustainability & Innovation: Experts from Apollo Energy, Elephant Energy, Colorado Energy Experts and My Electric Home provided practical tips on solar, home electrification, energy-saving upgrades and how to navigate the process.
- Youth Activities: Kids participated in seed planting, recycled crafts, and "Sustainability Bingo"
- Unique Experiences: Tree Climbing Colorado offered guided tree climbing in a majestic Elm tree south of the playground.
- Pollinator Support: The Washington Park Pollinator Corridor distributed native wildflower seeds to help boost local biodiversity.
- Community Service: thanks to those who participated in the park clean up and donated to the South High School Giving Grocery
